Tom is a highly skilled Architectural Engineer with nearly 20 years of experience successfully managing projects from $10K to $500M over a wide range of industries. He has a diverse background in heavy/civil/marine, communications technology, public/municipal, healthcare, mechanical/HVAC systems, electrical power distribution, structural design and higher education construction projects.
With the advent of worldwide focus on sustainable design, Tom successfully completed requirements stipulated by the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program to attain the LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) credential. This signifies competence in designing and constructing buildings with Eco-friendly, sustainable elements that reduce the burden on our natural resources. Additionally, he maintains an active status with the American Society of Civil Engineers, frequently participating in local chapter activities and seminars.
Professional engineering expertise brings added value to any project, large or small. Thorough knowledge of current building codes and local ordinances align well during planning and pre-construction efforts to vet potential constructibility problems in advance of actual field work, and provide client with accurate decision-making information.

Since Christina joined the firm in 2010, she and Tom have developed a professional work dynamic that efficiently delivers solutions for our clients’ needs. Depending on your requirements, we typically staff the project with Tom as the lead in all matters, with Christina assisting as needed.This allows Tom to focus on the more critical and technically challenging tasks with Christina managing design, document control, and baseline coordination.

Christina, with a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering and nearly a decade of hands-on experience with design professionals throughout New England and Canada, understands project synchronization from surveying existing conditions to punch lists. Her design skills include a variety of drawing, 3D modeling, and rendering to best satisfy client's needs. She is currently pursuing her internship hours required to become a licensed Architect. Christina believes success is producing quality work efficiently, enjoying the project progression through completion.

After spending ten years working for his family’s company, Kretehogs Inc, as a Concrete Contractor, Dave followed a non-traditional path earning his AS in Architectural and Civil Engineering Technology from the Central Maine Community College and a BS in Construction Engineering Technology from the University of Maine in Orono. In addition, he has extensive field experience as a surveyor and materials testing technician for the University of Maine’s Advanced Structures and Composites Center. With this knowledge, he brings a wealth of technical and real-world experience to his role at Dirigo A/E.
Wendell Hiking With Family
Wendell is a Maine native and a 20 year construction professional with Bachelors Degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering and Construction Management, both of which he studied at the University of Maine. He has worked a majority of his career on projects throughout Maine and New England for local contractors such as Sargent Corporation (as well as the former H. E. Sargent Inc.), CCI Inc., Williams Construction, and Maine DOT.
Over these 20 years, Wendell has maintained an excellent working relationship with many of the regional and local subcontractors and vendors. Through the management of these resources he delivered projects to clients on time, on budget, and within strict quality guidelines. Construction projects completed range in size from small residential remodels to $27 million fast track commercial projects in Military, Federal Facilities, National Park Service, Healthcare, Education, Retail, Municipal, Transportation, and many others.
Recently Wendell earned his Engineer-in-Training Certification. With a focus on structural and civil design, he is prepared to move forward with enhancing his career in engineering design, as well as continuing with construction management and owner representation.
As an experienced laborer throughout his teenage years Zachary picked up a vast amount of practical knowledge by performing various tasks in the field. With this, he has been able to successfully implement it into all phases of his current construction and design efforts. During his collegiate years he attended CMCC and UMO to further build on the foundation of skills previously learned. While in school he was presented with many real-world problems and circumstances from talented professors which better prepared him for the future. Zach is valuable part of the Dirigo A/E team. His creative problem-solving techniques along with his strong belief in client relations ensures projects are completed on time and on budget.

Leanne joined Dirigo A/E team in July 2018 as the Office Administrator. Leanne was hired for her proactive mindset and excellent people skills. She works closely with every member of the team to ensure smooth and continuous operations. She maintains the company’s finances and assists with preparation of proposals and submittals for business development. She is well organized, detail oriented and customer service focused. Leanne assists in creating and implementing marketing strategies to increase brand awareness on social media as well as attends local networking events. She’s a welcoming face for the organization.
